Handyman Services Site

Knock On Wood

Project

The Challenge

Knock On Wood serves both residential and commercial handyman work in Whatcom County. The old site didn’t clearly support two different buyer mindsets: homeowners want reassurance and quick contact, while commercial clients (property managers and small businesses) need operational confidence (process, reliability, documentation, and predictable scheduling). Without that split, the website attracted mixed-quality leads and left commercial prospects unsure whether the team could meet professional requirements.

The Solution

We structured the site around two entry points—Residential and Commercial—each with tailored language and proof. We built commercial credibility signals into the experience, such as insurance/licensing statements (if applicable), service process steps, scheduling expectations, invoicing readiness, and maintenance-style support. We refined service pages to reflect real buying intent (turnovers, punch lists, repairs, light carpentry, installs), including “what we do / what we don’t” to prevent misaligned inquiries. We designed calls-to-action (CTA = Call To Action) that match each audience: Residential (“Request service” / “Call now”) and Commercial (“Request a walkthrough” / “Discuss ongoing maintenance”). We improved lead capture with forms that collect the right details for each client type, reducing follow-up questions and speeding estimates.

The Results

More commercial-appropriate inquiries at a 80% lift. Strong qualitative proof: “We finally look like the kind of vendor a property manager can trust.”
